Golmaal Again Movie Review - The Celeb Guru

Story

Gopal, Madhav, Lucky, Laxman, and Laxman 2 are orphans living in an orphanage in Ooty managed by businessman Joy Jamnadas. Gopal is scared of ghosts, Lucky is mute, and Laxman has a lisp. They are aware that the local librarian, Anna, can see ghosts and spirits. One day, they find a baby girl, whom they name Khushi, and take care of her. After a prank by Madhav scares the timid Gopal in an empty bungalow owned by Joy’s friend, Colonel Chauhan, a fight breaks out among the boys. Gopal gets punished, prompting him and Laxman to leave the orphanage. Soon after, Madhav, Lucky, and Laxman also leave. Khushi is eventually adopted by Colonel Chauhan and his wife.

Years later, Gopal and Laxman work for Babli Bhai, while Madhav, Lucky, and Laxman work for Vasooli Bhai. They reunite after learning about Jamnadas’ death. Returning to the orphanage for his memorial service after 25 years, they meet Colonel Chauhan, now blind, along with Anna and Pappi, another orphan from their childhood who suffers from memory loss. They also meet a girl they believe to be the bungalow’s caretaker, Damini, and learn about Khushi’s death. During the memorial service, businessman Vasu Reddy announces plans to demolish the orphanage and build his own project. Anna and Colonel Chauhan decide to rent out two rooms, upsetting Vasu, who wants the bungalow empty. When the group leaves the orphanage, a ghost possesses Laxman and speaks in Nana Patekar’s voice, scaring Gopal. After the ghost leaves, Gopal and Laxman call Anna, who lies that the ghost is still in their house and suggests they move to Colonel Chauhan’s house. The ghost then possesses Madhav, prompting Vasooli to assign Madhav, Laxman, and Lucky to evict Gopal and Laxman for Vasu, bringing the group back to Ooty.

In Ooty, the two groups start fighting. Madhav, Laxman, and Lucky try to scare Gopal into leaving, but Gopal gets possessed and beats them up. Vasu then instructs Madhav, Lucky, and Laxman to burn down the house, but Lucky gets possessed and also starts talking in Nana Patekar’s voice, scaring everyone. The groups decide to leave, but Anna and Damini convince them to stay for a birthday celebration, and they make amends. The boys discover that Gopal has fallen in love with Damini and encourage him to confess his feelings. While Gopal and Damini are talking, Pappi shows photos from the birthday celebration, revealing that Damini doesn’t appear in any of them. It is revealed that the girl they thought was Damini is actually the ghost haunting them, while the real Damini is Pappi’s girlfriend. The ghost confesses her true identity, terrifying the boys, who try to escape. Anna stops them and explains that the ghost is their childhood friend Khushi.

In a flashback, Khushi narrates how her boyfriend, Nikhil Surana, a young businessman and Jamnadas’ nephew, planned to demolish the orphanage to build an amusement park. When Jamnadas disagreed, Nikhil killed him. When Khushi threatened to go to the police, Nikhil strangled her. Vasu helped Nikhil cover up the murders as accidents. Khushi’s spirit sought Anna’s help, who brought the boys to the house to seek justice for her.

In the present, Gopal fights off Vasu’s goons, and the rest of the boys decide to stay and help. They nearly get Vasu to confess, but Nikhil arrives, claiming there’s no evidence against him. A fight ensues, during which Khushi attacks Nikhil. Anna calms her down, and Vasu convinces Nikhil to confess. With the orphanage saved, Khushi’s spirit bids farewell and ascends to heaven.
