Shaitaan Movie Review - The Celeb Guru

Story

Kabir Rishi, a chartered accountant, lives in Dehradun, Uttarakhand with his wife Jyoti and their children, Janhvi and Dhruv. During a vacation at their farmhouse, they encounter Vanraj Kashyap, an enigmatic man. After Janhvi eats a laddu given by Vanraj, she becomes compelled to obey his every command.

Vanraj shows up at the farmhouse, claiming his phone’s battery died. Kabir asks him to leave, but under Vanraj’s orders, Janhvi prevents her father from doing so. Vanraj reveals he has hypnotized Janhvi through black magic and demands the family give her to him. When they refuse, he cuts the phone lines and uses Janhvi to torment them, making her do bizarre and harmful things.

The police respond to a hidden phone call from Jyoti, but the family pretends everything is normal to avoid triggering Janhvi to cause an explosion. Kabir offers Vanraj money, but he burns it, revealing he is a demon who wants to control the world. He orders Janhvi to disco dance and later to stab anyone who approaches him. When Kabir tries to steal Vanraj’s phone, Janhvi stops him by urinating in her shorts to avoid stabbing him. Vanraj, disappointed, makes her undress.

Fed up, Kabir and Jyoti attack Vanraj, but he orders Janhvi to laugh herself to death. He reveals that even if he dies, Janhvi will continue to follow his last order. Forced to comply, Kabir lets him go, but Vanraj then commands Janhvi to kill Dhruv. She wounds him severely by throwing him off the terrace. Desperate, the parents finally agree to give Janhvi to Vanraj.

Jyoti takes Dhruv to the hospital while Kabir secretly follows Vanraj, having placed a tracker on his phone. Kabir discovers Vanraj has hypnotized 108 other girls and plans to sacrifice them to gain ultimate control. Kabir cuts off Vanraj’s tongue and plays an edited recording of Vanraj’s voice, which frees the girls from his control.

The family recovers in the hospital, and the police return Vanraj’s hostages to their homes. They inform Kabir that Vanraj has disappeared.

A year later, Kabir visits an isolated chamber where he has imprisoned Vanraj. Unable to speak, Vanraj suffers as Kabir declares true power comes from parents protecting their children. Kabir, now Vanraj’s tormentor, promises they will meet again tomorrow and leaves him to suffer.
