It’s based on the life of Qandeel Baloch, a controversial Pakistani actress who was tragically murdered by her brother in the name of honor in July 2016. The screenplay was crafted by Umera Ahmad, with Saba Qamar portraying the lead character of Fauzia/Qandeel.

Within just a week of its release, “Baaghi” became the most-watched serial among Pakistanis on YouTube, sparking both acclaim and controversy. Story Review

Fauzia Batool, a vibrant young woman, resides in a rural setting with her family, including her parents and siblings. Her elder brother Rahim is married to Asma, who holds sway over him. Asma’s brother Sajid falls for Fauzia, igniting a complex series of events. Despite familial pressure, Fauzia refuses Sajid’s proposal due to his lack of ambition. Instead, she falls in love with Abid, a shop owner, who initially supports her dreams but later turns abusive. Fauzia escapes a forced marriage with Sajid to wed Abid, only to endure further hardship. Divorced and alone, she seeks solace in Karachi, pursuing a career in modeling.

Despite setbacks, Fauzia, now known as Kanwal, garners fame online but faces personal and professional challenges. She finds love with Shehryar but hides her past. However, her secrets unravel when her ex-husband exposes her on national television. Despite Shehryar’s initial shock, he empathizes with Fauzia’s journey. Tragically, Fauzia’s life ends in a horrific twist when her drug-addicted brother, driven by societal ridicule, murders her. The devastating news reverberates, leaving her loved ones and Shehryar shattered as her brother faces the consequences of his heinous act.
