Directed by Mohammed Ehteshamuddin and co-produced by Momina Duraid, Samina Humayun Saeed, and Tariq Ahmad Shah, the series features a stellar cast including Mahira Khan, Samiya Mumtaz, and Adnan Malik, marking his acting debut.


Set against the backdrop of the 1980s, Sadqay Tumhare intricately weaves the tale of Shano and Khalil, childhood sweethearts whose love is overshadowed by the haunting specter of their families’ intertwined past. Story

Set in 1980s Pakistani society and drawing from the writer’s own life. Sadqay Tumhare chronicles the journey of Shano, whose fate intertwines with that of Khalil from the day of her birth. Shano’s maternal aunt, Inayat, eagerly seeks her hand in marriage for Khalil, her son.

Growing up, Shano and Khalil, though betrothed, spend their childhoods apart. Shano, a simple village girl, holds their engagement dear, while Khalil, accustomed to privilege, remains indifferent. Despite longing to reunite, fate keeps them apart until Khalil’s dream prompts him to seek Shano.

Their long-awaited reunion sparks an instant connection, but their joy is short-lived as family objections threaten to tear them apart. Amidst twists and turns, including a violent encounter orchestrated by Shano’s family. Khalil and Shano navigate treacherous obstacles in pursuit of their love.

Despite facing opposition and manipulation, Khalil and Shano persist, planning to wed secretly with the help of Dr. Maqsood. However, their plans are thwarted when Shano’s mother manipulates events to force a marriage to another suitor.

In a daring bid for freedom, Shano flees to Khalil, prompting a frantic search and eventual confrontation with the authorities. Despite their sacrifices, they are torn apart by familial pressure and deceit, ultimately marrying others.




Years later, Khalil achieves success as a banker, haunted by the memory of Shano. Her untimely death leaves him grappling with grief and resentment towards those who tore them apart. As he bids farewell, a poignant encounter offers closure and a glimpse of hope, as Shano’s legacy lives on in their son, Khurram.

Filming for the series took place in various locales, spanning rural landscapes of Interior Punjab. Additionally, scenes were shot in diverse settings such as Sialkot, Sambrial, Kotri, and Karachi. Adding depth and richness to the visual narrative.
